Wainwright Altitude is a perfect thirst quencher unlike other ales; this pale golden cask ale has been specially brewed to taste at its peak when served at 5˚.
A distinctive gentle bitterness to the hops with refreshing notes of apricot and peach delivers a fruity, floral and citrus aroma, making Altitude a new style of cask ale.

opalescent golden colour, medium sized creamy ecru hed, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of some fruity, floral, citrusy and biscuity-caramel notes; taste of hoppy bitterness, some pear-like fruitiness, minimal honey and caramel notes; not that bad

Bottle from Morrisons Supermarket, Moston. Golden with a head. Traditional tasting pale ale, sessionable, with some hoppiness evident in both aroma and taste, and some mild citrus fruitiness.

500ml bottle from Morrison's: BB 31st Oct 2021. Drank at home while losing at cards on 2nd May 2021. Clean and clear golden body, the head a wispy and collar affair. Mild citrus feel to the nose and taste, on a decent bed of semi-sweet maltiness. Refreshing enough, but lacks depth of flavour and oomph.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. 14k for the giggles. Pours crystal clear golden with a thin ring of white head. Aromas of lemon and biscuit. Not quite malted milk, but not far off. Taste has dried mixed peel. Quite sweet though. Dried apricot on the finish. Not quite as bad as I thought it would be.

Bottle. Pours light gold, small white head, reasonable retention. Hoppy aroma of herbs and apricot. Flavour has a muted floral and stone fruit flavour, light malts and the finish is like a sweet lager and grain note with a mild bitterness. Body is light, carbonation moderate. Pleasant although lacks a bit of flavour on purpose. With the whole 'Chilled to Perfection' thing it seems to be aimed at a young audience as a gateway beer between lager and pale ales. In that sense this works as its inoffensive but has more flavour than a lager. Will it work enough to be an iconic beer amongst todays 20 somethings - well one look at the boring traditional labelling on my bottle version and the answer is clearly no. Beer is fine for what it is.
