Imperial Stout with Mackinac Fudge Coffee, Maple Syrup and Chocolate Aged in Oak Bourbon Barrels
Michigan didn’t invent old-fashioned fudge, but it was perfected here. We pay tribute to this time-honored tradition with KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge. By amplifying the rich chocolate notes of KBS using Mackinac Fudge coffee, then adding maple syrup and aging it in oak bourbon barrels, we’ve created a bold new take on our barrel-aged classic – one that could only have originated in Michigan.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours very dark brn/blk with a moderate creamy tan head. Med dark tan. Aroma of delicious coffee, chocolate, toasted/burnt malt, bourbon and maple hints. Wow. Full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, bourbon, burnt malt and maple in more than hints. Getting some wood that might be musty. The flavors are strong enough to stun Goliath IMHO. Not dry, but not at all sticky sweet. What can I say? Wowser!!!

355ml bottle @ Ardes. Thanks Tiong! Poured black in color, light brown head. Toffee, strong coffee notes, pretty smooth, full bodied. Dry coffee finish. Maple notes. Solid stuff.

(Bottle, 0.355 l - bottled on 25.09.2020, thanks tiong, at Arde, 20210123) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate and toffee. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, coffee and bitterness. Delicious.

Deep brown-black body, clumping tan head, quickly dissipating. Adjuncty nose, maple and chocolate, sweet, roasty, and boozy. Body initially sharp, ashy, and boozy, with heavy, disaffecting maple and sweet cocoa powder that dominate whatever is left of the base beer. Another limp herald of a noxious trend.

Bottle. Was really skeptical about this one, I almost didn't pick it up, glad I did though! Poured a nearly pitch black color, perhaps almost black-brown with a medium sized tan head. Aroma was chocolate, roasted malts, coffee. Fudge. Like seriously tastes like fudge. Alcohol is totally masked, which was awesome. 4-pack purchased at local Costco.

Dark brown pour with a short-lived tall tan head. Notes of brewed coffee, cocoa nibs, mocha, fudge, smooth bourbon. Not much maple in this, but a very solid KBS nonetheless.
