The Duck-Rabbit Märzen is the lightest of our German-style lagers. This is a beer designed for outdoor autumn festivals! Soft malt flavors take center stage here. This one is subtle and beguiling

Bottled. Brownish amber pour white head. Crisp malts with a caramel tang. Not too bad.

Aroma of mostly malts and caramel. Flavour is similar, malty caramel sweetness. This is an easy to drink malty brew which I enjoyed.

Bottle 12oz: Clear amber coloured brew with some hints of aramel, honey and raisins. Quite good North Carolinan version of an Munich Märzen.

Nice deep and dark copper coloured body with a brown glow and a thinnish, pure white head, only a cenitmetre or so tall. Aroma of robust caramelised sugars which show treacle, raisins, toffee and a light earthy malt characteristic with some metal and a very small amount of alcohol, all with a lot of nuts and biscuity malt along with a touch of bread and yeast. Light to barely Medium-bodied; Strong and relatively pungent earthy malt that really shows the caramelised sugars and graininess with a lot of bitterness from some leftover hops and a good deal of yeast. Aftertaste shows a lot of bread characteristics along with some earthy and grassy notes, biscuits and a dry, but pungent profile with some leftover alcohol and pungency on the tail end. Overall, a dry and very caramel-forward beer that shows a proper balance, yet leaves the complexities in an ale, as this lager is missing out on a wide breadth of flavours/scents throughout. Overall, a decent enough lager with some caramel and toffee flavours that persist and leave the palate clean but very simplistic without any more complexities noticeable. I sampled this twlve ounce bottle, purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 22-October-2019, right before running the USMC Marathon, for US$1,99 sampled after being registered for Next Year's MCM, on 23-March-2020. I sampled this at home in Washington on 23-March-2020.

Bottles from Big Top: pours clear amber with a small head. Aroma is caramel, some typical lager notes. Taste is a little off. Pretty sweet and malty. OK.

Not a lot of soul, but man does that duck-rabbit have a spiffy hat. Sweet toasted caramel malts flare up and die down too swiftly, then the mildly bitter finish fades fast. Looks good, tastes average.
