Bottle. Malty aroma and taste, belgian yeasty notes, caramel, light whisky notes, medium bitter. Medium to full body, malty spicy bitter finish. Ok.

Bottle at BBT 2/2024. Medium body, non-existent carbonation. High sweetness, medium warmth, low bitterness. Quite brutally oxidated. Flavour is dominated by dried fruits, sherry, caramel, toffeeish. Only background whisky and no perceivable woody character in my opinion. This did not age particularly well. Actually, it aged pretty bad. It is still drinkable, but lack any nuance, coherent concept. Goodish-average.

Bottle, 10%. Metal aroma, sweetish with berry notes. Cloudy dark golden colour. Good stable whitish head. The flavour has a good vanilla note, quite malty with a peppery finish. Not so much metal in the flavour, and it seems to be gone from the aroma also. Alcohol bitterness and vanilla in the aftertaste.

Sehr süßer Beginn. Apfel, Whiskey, Alkohol.

A 330 ml bottle acquired from Belgian Happiness. The style is one of my favorites and I rarely believe any beer suffers from barrel aging. The stage is set for an interesting tasting. Pouring inside of my Buffalo Bayou tulip glass I determine a yellow-gold body, a pillow-like head of white foam and a vigorous, renewing carbonation. The nose is of yeasty yellow fruit. I take a drink to find apricot, white bread, yeast, malt and cut hay. The sensation is full, something I attribute to the contribution from the barrels. Definitely some alcohol effect lurking in the background. Fairly straightforward tasting for a tripel, I would have liked a touch more sweetness.
