Bottled. Dark brown with a reddish note. It has a micro-sized beige head. Caramel, molasses and burnt notes in the aroma. It tastes sweet, with caramel, cola, hints of licorice and raisins. Thin body. One of the best hvidtøls. (060812)

33 cl bottle bought in Copenhagen, Denmark. Dark brown color, small tan head. Sweet scent of oatmeal with honey. Extreme sweet taste, like sugar water. Sweet corn like aftertaste. Thick but not comfortable palate, no bitterness.

Bottle (Kongens Bryghus Prima Hvidtøl). Sweet, slightly metallic aroma. Dark brown colour, almost no head. Standard sweetness for hvidtøl, but it has a slightly watery aftertaste with some liquorice to it.

Very deep chestnut or clear brown color with a small beige head. The taste is very sweet and light malty. Strong caramel and sugary notes. Has some light fruity notes.

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful, deep chestnut brown with a warm, reddish glow and a creamy, off-white head. Malty aroma. Light-bodied with loads of sweet, roasted malt, completely lacking bitterness. Decent hvidtøl, but on the edge of being too sweet. 081105

Bottled. Dark brown, beige coarse head. Sweet wort aroma. Cloyingly sweet with loads of accharine and some bready malt. Unrefined, unbalanced and raw. Too sweet to be fit for human consumption. I get the feeling that Hvidtøl can be good if you make it well.

Dark brown with short-lived light brown head. Sweet flavour with a burned note sand a hint of bitterness in the short aftertaste.

Brown-dark amber color. Very sweet, reminds me the unfermented wort (of the past homebrewing times). Light caramel aroma, and malt. Not hoppy at all. I can't remember a similar beer, from any other country, really original; enjoyable (well… a bit cloying after a few sips...).

A red brown beer with almost no head. It has the aroma of the liqurice which it is brewed on. The flavor is very sweet and that of liqurice - it has no bitternes what so ever. It is very nice and refreshing to drink with very sweet food. But if you drink too much the sweetnes will become too much.
