0.33 l bottle from 'Meny' (Blåvand), best before November 2022. Clear, dark ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, a bit roasty, moderately fruity aroma of caramel, toasted nuts, burnt bread crust and light raisins. Fairly sweet, malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, burnt sugar, cola and some raisins, followed by a short, hardly bitter finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Actually quite nice, first beer in this style for me, more or less the same as Malzbier or (Dutch) Oud Bruin.

Pitch black, topped with a thin offwhite head. Caramel biscuity nose with some coke presence. Very sweet, sugary. Coke feel all over it. Light body. Too sweet.

33 cl bottle. Shared. Dark amber colour with a thin, lightly tanned head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, chocolate and faint liquorice. Taste is sweet. Light to medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Short sweet finish with caramel malts and sugars. Not the biggest beer experience. However, very enjoyable with my rice pudding/ risengrød. Extra credits for the sentimental value. I used to have this as a boy for Christmas. Girlfriend says: It tastes like cheap cola. She might be right. Better than other low alcohol beers trying to mimic "real" beers.

[4/29/15] Bottle at the AirBnB apartment in Copenhagen. Cola brown color. Sugary malt aroma with caramel, licorice and toast. Sweet flavor with caramel, licorice, a bit of toast. Very light-bodied, kinda fizzy and sticky. Not my thing.

33cl bottle from Føtex, Fredrikshavn. Pours clear dark brow with a small, tan head. Malty and bready with notes of wort, caramel, rye and fermented, dried fruits. Sweet and malty with some reminiscence of Norwegian "vørterøl". Too sweet for enjoying alone, but quite pleasant. Certainly interesting enough. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kongens Bryg Mørkt Hvidtøl on 25 Mar 2015 at 20:28 - Score: 4
