Bottle in Copenhagen. One of these broke for me earlier so I got another on my last night there heh. Poured a dark brown-red body with a small white head. Strong sweet malty nose, distinct raisins. Sweet brown sugar-like malty taste, some raisins again. Simple, a bit cloying. Eh. Couldn’t drink much of this.

Medium beige head. Nearly opaque dark reddish brown body. Syrupy toffeeish roasty aroma with butterscotch and metal notes. Sweet roasty toffee and licorice taste with buttery sugary notes. Light, yet full body. Mild, smoothish mouthfeel. Sweetish roasty sugary buttery aftertaste with soy sauce notes. Nice and drinkable, even if very sweet. (0.33l bottle, Bilka, Copenhagen.)

330 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV is 1.7%. Ingredients include liquorice, sugar and colour E150c (also barley malts and hops). Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate beige head. Malty and sugary aroma, notes of brown bread, caramel and dust. The flavour is malty and very sugary / syrupy, extremely sweet, notes of caramel. Too far out on the sweet side for me.

Test vom 23.10.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,5,7,5,5,5 - 5,70

33 cL bottle (sampled from my sons). Pours deep brown with huge brown head. Aroma is coffee and liqourice. Sweet corn taste with liqourice and notes of coffee. Surprisingly different from other hvidtøl. No bitterness just sweetness and the dark corn/coffee/liqourice notes.
