Bottle @home thx to benzai. Dark brown colour with no real head. Smells very malty, animal fodder. Tastes cold tea with lots of sugar. Malty as hell. Medium body, no carbo.

Bottle shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus. Opaque dark black color, deep red glare coming through, small beige head. Smell and taste malts, overly sweet, a bit weird. Low body, low carbonation.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy very dark chestnut brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel. The flavour is not as sweet as I expected it to be. It has the sweetness of malt and sugar, but is enriched by caramel and chocolate notes. Sweet finish. Drinkable.

Catch up rating from notes, 2012: Bottle picked up in Danish market while visiting Legoland. This low alcohol beer more closely resembles the carbonated malt beverages widely available throughout Europe. Pours out a dark brown, mahogany color, small dissipating beige head. Smell is raisins and prunes, sweet. More of the super sweet malts in the taste, almost in soft drink territory. Interesting, and I guess, traditional.

A sweet low-alcohol reminiscent of English brown ales. Okay dark body and decent flavour, the low-alc beer is helped by the sugary sweetness to make it palatable. Without that sweetness it would be a pretty poor low-alcohol beer. Perhaps other low-alcs should follow this lead and sugar-bomb them to make them taste good!

Solid beer from Denmark. Very dark ruby red brown color. It’s very sweet. Like someone mixed it with pepsi.

Feb 2009: from BA. Obtained while in Copenhagen last year (2008), didn’t notice the 1.7% bit as I purchased a few different beers to bring home with me. Dark green (looks brown) 33cl bottle, poured into a Frankenheim Alt tumbler twice. The body of the beer is very dark, a deep, deep ruby red and brown colour, almost black. The top was a firm tan foaming head, which sadly all too soon turned into a weak collar. Smell was like Vimto. So sweet, it is just so sweet. Like a semi-flat Pesi or Coke. Anyone reading this remember ’Dandelion and Burdock’? A British soft drink now lost (mostly) to newer fizzy products. Well this reminded me of that. Difficult to score as a beer or as a drink, but I liked it and it brought back memories of my youth (don’t ask how long ago that was).

Bottled 330ml (BB 12/2012)
Dark chestnut brown color, small beige head. Caramel, rye bread, wort in the nose. Medium-bodied. Sweet caramelly, dark toffee flavor. Some wort, suprisingly not much rubber. Kind of pleasant "dessert beer".
