Can at home, from HOTM online, 08/12/20. Black with a big old dirty tan head that soon collapses to a trace of edgework ... shame! Nose is caramel wafers, toffee fudge, Crunchie bar, sweet malts, light roast, maple syrup on waffles. Taste comprises sweet malts, mellow barrel, chocolate fudge sundae, sweet coffee tones, light honeycomb, pinch of spice, brown sugar melt. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a splash of bourbon and a light rising boost. Decent BA impy but just lacks the wow factor to cruise over the 4 score.

Black with thin head. Aroma has vanilla and caramel. Flavour is similar but with a burnt note. Aftertaste has bourbon vanilla sweetness. It's good stuff but you need to be in the mood for it.

Can at THT online/at Maakun’s. Dark pour with some head. Massive caramel, bourbon, vanilla. Sweet sticky boozy roasted malt candy. Feels a bit thinner than you’d expect, or thinner than ideal maybe but very pleasing nonetheless. Tasty stuff.

Can shared at THT online. Black with brown head. Massive caramel fudge indeed, soft herbs, vanilla, roasted malts, earthy, soft bourbon, berries. Quite sweet, over medium bitter. Full bodied. Lovely.

Frothy light brown head, nose is caramel and molasses. Medium body, sweet, oily, boozy. Caramel and bourbon. Best of the variants so far. Excellent.

0.33 l can from 'Ace Drinks', best before December 2025. Pitch black with a medium large, foamy, slowly diminishing, light brown head. Intensely sweetish-malty, just moderately roasty aroma of caramel, vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate and some bourbon. Very sweet, malty, moderately roasty taste of caramel, chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla and some bourbon, followed by a long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly boozy finish. Full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Intense and saturating as always, but maybe a little thin and the bourbon flavours could be stronger though. Still one of my favourite beers, but not the best variant.

Can. Black pour with a quickly disappearing brown head. Aroma of sweet caramel fudge of course and chocolate, vanilla, sweet cherry, bourbon vanilla, molasses and some figs. Taste of caramel fudge, bourbon vanilla, chocolate, molasses, a little licorice, vanilla, little coconut and some sweet candy cherry. Mostly caramel fudge and bourbon, but every once in a while that's quite pleasent.
