Wow what a huge gusher, this brew practically exploded out of the bottle. Very annoying. Aroma is nutty, malty, toffee, overripe dark fruits, some hops. Flavour is sticky sweetness, toffee. Some bitterness in the rather dry finish. Peculiar beer, it seems a bit imbalanced but there’s something attractive about it as well.

Corked bottle, brewed by De Molen. Amber color. Malt, hints of coreander and tropical fruit in the aroma. Malty yeasty flavor, slightly alcoholic with floral hops. tangerine. Firm hopbitter aftertaste with alcoholic notes. (6 4 7 3 13 = 3.3) Bottle. Brown color. Malt and a hint of toffee in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with toffee and a hint of roast. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Some floral hop flashes in the aftertaste. Decent.

Fles 33cl tijdens Winterbierfestival in Hoogeveen. Zoetig, volle alcoholsmaak. Maltig. (12-2014).

Many thanks to beerhunter111 for this 33cl bottle. Best before 03.2016. The beer starts very sweetish. Malt, smooth. No alcohol. Easy to drink with a malty intense sweetness. Gingerbread, cookie-dough, yeast. The aftertaste is smooth-sweetish, fresh-intense, sweetish-smooth. Interesting!

Pours a reddish brown color. Flavour is medium sweet .fruit with strong alcohol kick and malty carme.

Bottle shared at Chrisso’s May 2014 tasting 25/05/2014. Hazed bright res / amber coloured pour with an off white head. Aroma is earthy wood, caramel, spicy hop and dash of lemon. Flavour is stale caramel, dirty hop, grassy, earthy. Palate is sweet, highish carbonation. Lingering honey malts.

Murky dark amber with enormous off-white head, slightly greyis. Taste is sweet fruity and honey, light spices, lots of peach and some candy. Light bitter finish with some pine. Medium bodied. Decent enough, but way over carbonated.

Tasting at the ever gracious ChrisO’s. Lightly hazy amber beer, good fluffly pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and light, fine carbonation. Sweet caramel malt. Floral things. Sweet hard candy underneath. Light airy finish. A sweet beer but pretty drinkable.

Bottled from speciaalbierpakket.nl, BB 04-2017, 8.5% so de Molen version, large sample, served in a trappist glass. Gushing out of the bottle, pouring a hazy copper color with a huge rocky off-white head. Aroma of caramel, cookie, quite some peppery spice, hint of cinnamon, hint of orange, hint of mustard (i doubt its in there, but this would make a great pairing with old cheese and mustard!). I was afraid it would smell bad and infected, its actually quite nice. Still bit sweet in taste (orange and caramel), slight spicy bitterness. Bit dry and bit thin in body (seems it has fermented out quite well, maybe some extra in the bottle), but it might even fit the style. Although it was gushing and shows a huge head, it is ok in carbonation, ofcourse on the high side. Does show slight signs of oxidation, but still pretty decent beer. Will retry and rerate though.

Chriso May 2014 tasting. Hazy amber lasting. good malt. Rather good I thought some hop on the finish
