Since human beings first began voyaging out into the sea there have always been rituals and ceremonies hoping to ensure safe passage. The Romans would pay tribute to Neptune, God of the Freshwater and Sea. Those who successfully journeyed and crossed the equator would transform in status from pollywogs to ‘Sons And Daughters Of Neptune’. Our second collaboration brew with Outer Range for Carwyn Collaboration has been named in honour of this tradition.

Tall can from Winerack at home. Hazy opaque light peach-yellow pour with thin fizzy white head. Aroma is mango pineapple sugar pine - some booze and citrus pith. Nice. Taste is pithy grapefruit mango intense bitterness, alcohol, huge bite on the finish. Tasty! Palate is creamy prickly and smooth. Delicious.

Just a smooth talkin criminal. I get pineapple, watermelon, pine needle and biscuit notes. The biscuit and pine needles are prominent in the mouth, with honey and just a hint of apricot. Thick, juicy and way too easy to drink.

Can from Carwyn Collaborational. Hazy yellow. A bit goopy in mouth. Pure fruit salad nose, a fruit salad that has been in the sun for a few hours and is tempting all the flies in the neighbourhood. Taste is a tad more subtle, but still Carmen Miranda level fruit. Lush!

From a 440ml can on 12/11/2020. Pour s a thick murky light golden with a small head. The nose is a mixture of ripe fruit and a bit of spice. Taste wise, it features lots of sweet stone and tropical fruit, which is tempered by a quite spicy, warming bitterness featuring citrus and peel and hint of booze, with some grapefruit notes lingering at the back of the tongue. Has just a touch of hop burn but not enough to upset me. Full bodied with a quite milky mouthfeel. Moderate to average carbonation. Reasonably intense but very tasty. Nice stuff.

Can. Bucket of sand with a modest white head. 3- Vibrant aroma of citrus and tropical fruit. Some zesty, some ripe, some under-ripe, some mysterious and a bit stinky. Taste is very fruity but not overwhelmingly sweet. The palate is cleanish. A boozy warmth swells as astringency more than bitterness grips towards the end. Tries to digest my tongue after a while. Good of its ilk but not an unalloyed pleasure.
