Bottle from Tops. Dark golden, offwhite head. Nose is caramel, bready, fruity. Flavour is caramel malts, fruits, fairly sweet, a bit perfumy. Meh.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a semi-clear copper/light amber color with a semi-foamy to fizzy white cap of a head. Sliding lace.
The aroma had some toast, biscuit, light caramel/toffee malt sweetness, light earthy to grassy hops. Thin little spice.
The flavor leaned into the malts with the sweet tones coming out fairly nice. Light red delicious apple qualities. Moderate sweet malty aftertaste. Finish was pretty quick.
The feel was roughly medium bodied, maybe just a touch under. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Sessionability was there.
Overall, good Autumn beer, would have again.

12oz bottle of plain Flying Bison Bisonfest from Wegman’s, West Seneca, NY. Golden amber with a thin white head; honey aroma; caramel taste. Not bad.

Crystal golden colour with a thin, fast-dying white head. Nice strong aroma of caramel and wheat. Medium-bodied; Strong metallic twang mixed with a medicinal quality. Aftertaste bittered from those characteristics, and left very dry. Overall, a decent beer, not too bad, but not great. I actually didn't know this was a Marzen...the usual characteristics just weren't there. I got this pint on draught at MacGregor's in Rochester, New York on 21-October-2003.
