Hand-pulled half-pint in the Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford on 12th Mar 2020. Red hue to the brown/amber body, beige head that tried to hang around. Caramel and toffee esters and flavours in this winter brew, some dark berry hints too. Nice!

Cask at Lych Gate, Wolverhampton Pours a reddish brown with a small cream head. Body is slow to clear, but does eventually. Just a little toffee on the nose. More toffee in the mouth, with caramel and oats. Basically sweet, but with some hints of spice now and then. Finish is bitter with some alcoholic strength coming through. A good solid winter beer,

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2010. Pale chestnut, thin ivory head. Bit of rubber, but rest of it is pretty good, some orange fruit. Decent, if a the rubber edge isn’t great. OK hop on end.
