Bottle from Kris Wines. Very dark brown/black very small golden head. Aroma is woody, boozy, coffee, dark fruit, lots of roasty malt, very rich. Taste is booze, quite smooth and bit of vanilla, bit of milky chocolate, lots of coffee roasty bitterness. Quite full on but very nice. Touch of smokiness. Lovely!

On tap at the Craft Beer Co, Dec ’11. Dark dark brown to almost black in colour with a small finger of white head. Very powerful aroma’s hit the nose, strong coffee, burnt roasted malts, sugars and chocolate. Tastes of an Expresso shot, very strong coffee flavours, a little on the sweet side, tan, woody, roasted. A decent breakfast stout, maybe a little too sweet, particularly on the aftertaste.

330 ml bottle. Dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma is totally dominated by really strong coffee, almost at a level that feels sour in the nose. Flavor is sweet and bitter with dark malt, bitter, dark chocolate and lots of strong coffee, some coffee acidity. Fine body and lots of coffee in the aftertaste. Very nice, but a bit unbalanced in the coffee flavor for my likings.
