Ogre is considered as the flagship of Szent András Brewery, it offers a characteristic impression, rich in hops and Pilsen malt combined with a significant ABV rate. The Ogre was created at Marosvári „Ogre” László’s desire, who is for sure one of the greatest beer enthusiasts in our country and also he is the head of our brand pub named Ogre bácsi from the beginings. This pleasant Czech alike beer was a gap filler on the domestic market, thus it became popular rapidly.

Bottle shared in Hoboken - many thanks to Blipp. Pours clear, pale yellow with a frothy white head. The nose has some moist cereal grains, hay. Light to medium sweet flavor with grainy pale bread, light bitter hay, ripe lemon. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet with pale, lightly doughy pale bread, mild bitter grains, hay. Fine.

Medium offwhite head. Clear golden body with very light carbonation. Grassy earthy strawy aroma with nutty fruity notes. Dry-sweet strawy earthy grassy taste with herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish herbal grassy aftertaste with strawy mealy notes. I detect some weird similarities with Lithuanian beers, no idea why. Nice, but a bit rough. (0.5l bottle, from Kézműves Csemege, Budapest.)

Hah, ogreface got a beer. Cool! Ogivlado got this somewhere in Hungary. Sweetish fruity malty aroma, nice herbal notes, slightly weak though. Ok, slightly dry, slightly woody taste, ok herbal hoppy notes. The rest I wrote is illegible. Oh well. A solid beer indeed!

A Domján veri. Amúgy meg lisztes és vasas.

On tap @ F?zdefeszt 4. Clear golden body, white head. Aroma of grass with some fruityness. The flavor is like the aroma. Lots of grass with some spicy fruityness. Highly carbonated, easy drinking beer. I love it.
