Full-bodied and smooth, this modern IPA is bursting with tropical and citrus fruit notes courtesy of a harmonious blend of English and US hops.

Mostly clear gold with scattered white top. Taste of malts with stewed citrus and stone fruit; nice but basic although there is a bit of hop spice and decent bitterness in the finish. Light to mid bodied.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Junction Supermarket. Pours crystal clear gold with a modest, frothy white head. Light-medium sweet flavour, really simple sun-kissed pale malts, pine, leaves, orange rind. Light bodied with average carbonation. Mellow resinous finish, pale bread, pine, semi-ripe citrus. Quite basic but fairly drinkable.

Can from Ocado so I had to pay twice the going rate at Home Bargains. Aroma is malty, a touch of stone fruit and citrus. Clear copper gold. Fluffy foamy white head. Medium bitter. Grapefruit and a hint of quinine. Underlying jammy sweet edged fruit sourness then surfaces. Malty. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. The blurb on the can bangs on about how this beer evokes what it means to be British and, yeah, this is for me a twiggy take in an IPA. Perhaps an IPA - English rather than a straight up SIPA. Not particularly modern despite the claim on the can.

Can from local Home Bargains store. There’s a not particularly pleasantaroma associated with this – a mix of artificial lemon and sugary sweetness ? Pours a chrome yellow with a decent white head and good lacing. In the mouth it starts off with metallic bitterness and corn, followed by citrus and other hops, and finally an underling sweetness. Finish is dry and bitter. Quite a complicated beer – but not necessarily in a good way !

Can from Home Bargains, Salford. Deeper clear golden with a small carbonation and a thick frothy head. Has an obvious strength giving it a full body with a slightly soapy-creamy texture, and a high bitterness factor, subduing what you would normally associate with an IPA, including its fruitiness, which is just about evident in the background.
