In celebration of Kirkstall Forge, the oldest forge in England, and named after the giant press that was at the heart of the operation. A full bodied yet beautifully smooth dark porter. Perfectly balanced flavours of chocolate and coffee enhanced by the mild herbal hop character. Deliciously dark.

Cask-conditioned at the JDW in Leeds station 1/10/2019. Near black in colour, with reddish undertones and a frothy, off-white, head. Caramel, chocolate, a touch of coffee and some toasty malts, leading to a warming, gentle finish. Very good.

Cask Pint, Horse and Farrier (Otley) on 1st June 2019. Really lovely Porter, black bodied with a good blanket of tight tanned foam on top. Aroma and taste were of chocolate and coffee, semi-sweet, semi-bitter with a smoothness more akin to a Milk Stout. Nice.

Black with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have a load of bitter roasted dark malts. Really intense. Well focused with no adjunct flavours.
