In celebration of Kirkstall Forge, the oldest forge in England, and named after the giant press that was at the heart of the operation. A full bodied yet beautifully smooth dark porter. Perfectly balanced flavours of chocolate and coffee enhanced by the mild herbal hop character. Deliciously dark.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Light dry palate. A nice touch of dark malt, a little vanilla. Tiny bit of roast malt. Trace of bubblegum ester. Mild dark chocolate. Dry finish.

Cask handpull at Sheffield Tap. Very dark brown ruby beer with thin lasting beige head. Fruity choccy porter. Like choc brownies with alcohol. So its quite dry. Some liquorice too. Not sure this entirely works. Trying to be too much. A juicy dry liquorice choccy porter. Thin and full at same time. Give me lager.2.9 Re rate at Kent And East Sussex 2024. Tasty malty beer. Good condition. Very tasty. Lovely dark malts. Good porter.
