Zwart bier met mooie bruine schuimkraag. Smaak is warm, krachtig, bitterzoet en gebrand met iets van turf, wat zwarte koffie en cacao. De zware rooksmaak is even wennen maar dan wordt dit toch een heel goed biertje.

Black with a thick beige head. Aroma of peat, dark chocolate, coffee, oak, smoke, caramel and licorice notes. Flavour is light heavy sweet and heavy bitter. Full bodied with alcohol warmth in the finish and soft carbonation.

Basis is best zoet, bijna pastry. Daar overheen wat turf en gerookte paling. Allebei afzonderlijk zou niet mijn ding zijn, en het is nog steeds niet super in balans. Maar op dit moment kan ik het prima hebben

A black beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has roastiness, chocolate, caramel, very light turf, hint of barrel and Scotch. Taste has liquorice, rostiness, chocolate, caramel malts, some smoke and turf. Full bodied, almost not stickyess. Complex, balance is there.

Smell of coffee. Dark brown colour, short beige head. Aroma of tar, peat, coffee, alcohol. Some oak and smoke, also pepper. Lively carbon. Surprisingly light body for this ABV.

33 cl can @ home. Canned 13.11.2020, BBE 13.11.2025 Aroma has tar and smoke. Also licorice. Flavour has peat, tar, smoke, salty licorice. Finishes with rather strong and lingering saltiness. Peat and smoke aromas are nice but this is way too salty for my taste.

330ml can. Heavy with peaty notes, warming alcohol, oak, wood and smoky notes, mild sweetness and syrupy notes too. Heavy stuff.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - canned on 19.11.2020 - 19.11.2025, thanks VastActiv, at Arde, 20210123) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had smoke, peat and burnt malts. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, peat, smoke, ash, booze and bitterness. Aftertaste was boozy, peaty and bitter. A too peaty and too burnt brew.
