Dose 0,44l: Schwarz, kräftige Trübung, kräftiger mäßig stabiler mittelporiger brauner Schaum; sehr würzige + kräftig malzige Nase, kräftige Süße, dezente trockene Hopfenaromen, dunkle/getrocknete Früchte, Korinthen, schwarze Beeren, kräftige Röstaromen, Röstmalz, dunkles Karamell, kräftig Vanille, dunkle Schokolade, dezente süße Rauchigkeit; kräftig würziger + süßer Körper, kräftig malzig, dunkle/getrocknete Früchte, schwarze Beeren, kräftig Röstmalz, dunkles Karamell, sehr cremig, dezente Kohlensäure, Vanille, Kaffee, Espresso, dunkle Schokolade, leichter süßlicher Torfrauch; würzig-süßer Nachgang

355mL can. Pours black with a beige head. Gentle roast and fairly mild peat smoke on the nose. Flavour has a roasty base, a nice but fairly light peat smoke, some excess sweetness. It's good, but the peat isn't that prominent and the base isn't great.

Can from Geers (?). Cloudy black, small, beige head. Aroma of peated whisky, iodine, charcoal, tobacco, black olive, liquorice, raisin, fondant. Taste has sweetish raisin & blackberry in a dark-chocolatey malt body; umami olive and herbal liquorice notes in the back where tobacco & smoke pop up as well. Peppery hoppy finish, bitter coffee, liquorice again, slightly salty even, good dash of warming peated whisky alcohol. Medium to full body, oily-sticky texture, average carbonation. Decent effort by Uiltje, even though the peat & earth deserved a more prominent place than the herbs & salt.

Clear dark brown to black beer, big creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very floral, good roast, slightly peated, smoke, sourish impression. MF: ok, lively carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, sourish touch, gentle roast, quite some alcohol, a bit peated. Aftertaste: bitter, a little medicinal, more roast, caramel notes, bitter touch, a bit oxidized.

Canned (with Mats). Black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is peat, leather, some alcohol and mild toasted tones. Flavour is peat, leather, some alcohol, mild liquorice, alcohol and some coffee tones. Surprisingly easy going and actually too boozy .

33cl can. A very dark brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of strong peated dark malt. Taste of intense strong dark malt, peated malt, smoke, coffe, liquorice.

Intensiv malziger Beginn mit deutlichen Torfnoten. Karamell, Torf und Zucker im Mittelteil, cremig, intensiv. Nett, wenn auch etwas monoton. 10/9/9/9/11/9

Opaque, black color and a nice tan head. Smokey nose, sweet, vanilla. Taste is sweet malty, vanilla, dried fruits. Dry and smokey finish. Little boozy.

Can. Pours thick black with a short-lived small tan head. Aroma is lots of dark malts, roasted barley, loads of peat smoke. Light caramel and molasses. Big body, smooth. Flavour is malty, full on dark malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel, roasted barley. Lots of peat smoke, but doesn't take over, warming and rich. Big peat smoke finish, warming and slightly boozy, though not much for the abv. Lovely.

33cl blik. Zwart, licht-beige kraag. Wat turf, gebrande mout, redelijk zoet, wat chocolade, donker fruit, leer, beetje zalf-achtig, hint van vingerverf. Medium body. Degelijk, geen topper helaas.
