Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark, dark brown with a slight mahogany hue and an uneven thin khaki head. The cherry is really evident with a good chocolate malt backbone. Taste is more bitter than I'd expected, no bad thing, with notes of cooking chocolate and cherry. Good body for the ABV, with soft carbonation. A very enjoyable dark mild.

August 2008: Cask at the GBBF 2008. Black colour, dark brown in the highlights, decent tan head. Lovely aroma of cherries on a background of milk chocolate. The cherries are also clearly noticeable in the flavour, but roasted malts, dark chocolate and mild coffee also come up front. Moderate bitterness in the finish. This beer is something out of the ordinary, but I’d still like some more malty sweetness.

Cask at GBBF '18, day 3, 09/08/18. Chestnut brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is sweet glazed cherries, light cocoa dusting, brown bread, toffee. Taste comprises bourbon biscuit, dark malts, dried fruits, bitter sweet tang, brown bread, light cherry stones. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Passable mild ... perhaps a touch overly sweet in places.

Sampled @ GBBF Day 2. Almost opaque dark brown color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, a huge load of (Dutch) "hopjesvla", some milk chocolate and cherries. All combining into a mix of terrible yuk. Instant drainpour for me. Bleh!
