0,5 bottle at table, standard issue at Pētergailis restaurant with Snegurochka. Re-tasting after twelve (count them) years. Clear reddish brown body with small head. No significant lacing. Medium strength aroma of sweetish malts, prune compote and faint notes of smoke which are sadly overmatched by its sweetness. The interesting aroma is not really matched by the taste, which is weaker. A slightly soapy mouthfeel also contributes negatively but overall it is definitely still a drinkable dark lager. Formulaic but good start to Xmas holiday.

Re-rated. Smell-weak malt, roast, caramel, maybe. Foam- malt, roast, very faint caramel. Head is large, white-brown color. Sticks a bit. Appearance- brewer bottle cap, simple label. Bottle is technically unique to the brewer. Clear orange-ruby color, weak carbonation. From- pint Taste- malty, weak acidic tones, some sweetness. Generally a bit watery, but drinkable. File macro. could be a bit thicker. Old rating: Smell - medium strong, roast, caramel, hops aroma. Foam - medium thick, soft, little creamy, can feel bitterness all over, hoppy, but not too strong. Orange/brown milk color. Appearance - some carbonation definitely on sides, clear brown/red, medium dark. Taste - caramel, little hops, some more in aftertaste, lasts a bit and goes away, some roasted malt tones, and with few sips more roasted tones in aftertaste. Old score: 6/3/6/3/13=3,1

50cl bottle from Riga Airport. Pours clear mahagoni with a small, off-white head. Aroma of caramel and malt with some roasty and earthy notes and a hint of alcohol. Sweet, caramelly and mild malty with a hint of bitterness. Medium body with fairly average carbonation. Quite okay, but boring and a bit too much on the sweet side for my taste.
