Pulling Nails is an ongoing experiment in the art of blending to create sour and wild ales of extraordinary depth, complexity, and balance. Blend #10 includes threads of The Scribe, our Raspberry, Cherry, Black Currant, mead inspired sour Quad, and an old collaboration recipe which is a sour Quad aged in wine barrels. These harmonious threads were then blended and naturally conditioned in this bottle for several months before its release.

On tap at Side Project Cellar. Dark red with white head. Jammy red fruit, very intensive, cherries, barrel, sweet with some acidity in the back. Drinks so easily for the abv.

Bottle: Poured a slightly hazy dark golden color ale with a medium size white foamy head with light retention and light lacing. Aroma of funky yeast notes with light barnyard notes with faint notes of fruits and tart notes. Taste is also a mix of funky yeast notes with some light berries, medium tart notes and some oak notes. Body is pretty full for style with good carbonation. Solid wild ale with a good mix of drinkability and complexity with light acidic notes noticeable.

Taster showing pitch black with no head.
The nose shows moderately intense notes of vinous bourbon with light notes of tart brett.
The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Lightly tart with dark vinous red flavors of raisin, fig, and dried black forest fruit. Light bourbon throughout.

Bottle thanks to Anthony. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is dark fruit, oak, vinegar. Slick body, similar flavors to nose, acidic, very sour, enjoyed this.

Bottle shared at Blacked Out Friday. Pours a clearish orange copper with a finger of off-white foam that lingers. Cherry, berry and vinous wine notes on the nose with some mineral and toffee as it warms. Palate is very similar and leans hard into red and dark fruit notes.
