This beer pours a deep chestnut brown, with a billowing cappucino head. It has aromas of forest fruits and a biscuity, malty body. Generously hopped with US varieties.

330ml bottle. Dark ruby red glowing, mahagony colour with late awakening, average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, ochre head. Resinous, piney, herbal hoppy aroma, slightly earthy, dark malty background with a nuttily touch, hints of chestnut, cautious red berry-fruitiness. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, mildly bitter hoppy overtones, minimally herbal and metallic; taste occupies regions of quite restricted scope on the palate, watery side lines.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are dry roast malt, lots of hops, caramel, nuts and has a long dry bitter finish. Nice and easy drinkable.

Bottle, 11C. Dark brown with a beige head that fades to a coat. Aroma of molasses, coffee, plums, fake cherries/ nail polish. Fruity flavours rapidly overtaken by ash and burnt coffee. Didn’t get any more welcoming as it warmed.

Cask at The Fox, Hackney on 11 January 2014. Poured a very dark brown with a scummy, tan head. Earthy aroma with notes of dark chocolate and dates. Medium to full mouthfeel. Flavours of treacle, plums and peat. Finish was bitter resin, burnt malt and black cherries.

33cl bottle. BB Oct 2013. Near black with almost no head, low carb. Not flat, but not far away. Lots of chocolate on the nose with roastedness and ashy, charcoal notes. Unfortunately some ugly paint notes coming later. Sniffin paint.. Flavor is much better with ash, roasted malt, dark chocolate and some spicy notes. Dry, ashy finish.
