bottle from Vinoble-favrskov black, smooth large light brown head. aroma of roasted malts, licorice, appears complex, yet i can’t seem to figure what the taste notes are. flavor is roasted stuff, licorice, dark caramel, faint brown sugar, good bitterness, ends licorice , dark caramel, roasted malts. nice one.

Black with a light brown semi-lasting head. First aroma is of candy licorice, then comes a smoked note and a little fruit, chocolate and peat/medicine. Sweetish and slightly sour dark malt flavour with distinct peat. Alcohol and sweetness in a strange finish. But if you like Islay whisky, this is a must-try beer.

Bottled (thanks Papsoe!). Hazy dark brown colour, quite close to black. Head was pale brown, and didn’t last for too long. Aroma is fruity along with chocolate and roasted malts. Flavour is smoked and roasted malts along with some weird sticky sweetness of fruits and alcohol. Some mild notes of licorice as it warms up. the sweetness in this one messes it up for me, otherwise it could have been really good.
