A careful pour of the bottle still brings up a two inch light tan rocky head with a copper body and gold edges. The pour shows signs of an infected bottle. The aroma is a pulse of grapefruit tartness, orange peel and lemon with a faint mix of caramel, grainy malts and nuttiness in the background. The taste begins with grapefruit hops and quickly becomes more tart with lemon acidity. By midway the malts make an appearance and smooth out the tartness for a moment or two with roasted malts and nuttiness. The hop tartness and mild acidity retake the flavor with some malt roastiness taking the experience to the finish. If it was infected I still enjoyed the ride.

Bottle from Marcus - really appreciated. Amber color with a smallish off-white head. Aroma is fruit and floral. Amazing. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is fruit and floral hop over mildly roasted malt. Finish is malt and hop. Balanced. Really drinkable. Just excellent.

Draft at Drakes tasting 11/10/06; Nose was all hops! Hazy dark gold with a small white head, flavor was all hops also!

Noogfest. Deep amber with a decent white head. Toasted malt aroma accompanied by flowery hops. Soft palate, nice dryness to this one.

Slightly hazy amber. Massive hop aroma is very much bursting with fruity notes. The body is pretty light for style, as is the maltiness, leaving this an ode to hops, which again take on a fairly fruity character, but lack the bold, bright quality I enjoyed so much in the aroma.

Bottled. Clear amber. Fairly strong lychee aroma. Dryish with clean mouthfeel and fairly light body. Notes of melon, medium bitterness. A predominantly hop aromatic very drinkable IPA.

Draft. Amber-ruby-brown beer with a creamy white head. Refreshing big hop aroma - citrus/peach. Hop flavors come through - fruity with a bit of resin. Low malt profile, but there’s some typical Drakes malts (slightly roasty, chocolate).
