Flight at the brewery in Denton, Texas. Pitch black color with no head. Flavor of dark roasted malt and nothing else. No maple flavor at all. The 9.5 ABV quickly drowns out any flavors. Not good.

Bottle from a trade. Many thanks! Dark brown colour, beige foam. Medium body, medium carbonation. Roasty beer with lots of coffee, light caramel sweetness and some maple syrup. Bit raw and unbalanced.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with thick tan head that lasts leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is chocolate and grain. Medium mouth with very sweet roasted chocolate and oats, good.

Sampled at the 2014 Untapped festival in Fort Worth. Pours a near black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has some dark chocolate, roasted malts, dark grains and a hint of syrup backing. Flavor more chocolate coming through with roasted malts some dark grain and a hint of syrupy.

On tap (listed at 11%). Pours with a black hued body with a large tan head with good retention. Aromas are estery, cocoa nubs, mild isoamyl acetate, earthy, nutty and creamy with lots of chocolate. Flavors are grainy, cereal, oatmeal, bready and toasty malt. Chocolate, nutty, prunes, dark fruits. Big bodied with well hidden alcohol and medim-low carbonation.
