This imperial is the base beer for our Spirit: Black, BourbRum barrel aged beer.
This base was so good that we decided it had the right to exist on it's own, so we bottled the leftovers that didn't fit in the barrel.
It took us a double mash and 2 hour long boil to get the smoothness and body we wanted. No adjuncts or extra's were added, so the malts can speak for themselves.

Thnx Kevin ! Pours black, no real head. Smell is full, roasty, sweet, chocolate. Taste is full, roasty, fairly thick. Mild bitterness. Medium umami, relatively fullbodied. Bit sweet, but very balanced. Come to think of it, there aren't much standard Imperial stouts (no adjunct, barrels,...) with good availability on the BE market. This could be ( if it were brewed in bigger volumes ) a nice example of an Imperial stout to re-drink on a regular ***base***
