Bottle. Very dark brown, almost black with a thin ring of bubbles on top. Aroma of sweet toffee malt. Creamy malt and caramel flavour, subtle sweet caramel finish.

Namesake beer for 200th rate! 500ml bottle. Pours really dark brown with no head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt and some raisin. Sweet malt to start. Sweet raisin finish. Very watery, but that’s no surprise.

Bottle. Molasses malt and light grass hops aroma. Dark black-brown color with small head. Sweet brown sugar malt flavor on the weak side. Light body. Tasty beer.

Bottle 500ml. [ As Manns Brown Ale ]. Clear medium to dark brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is light moderate malty, caramel, toffee, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. Very much like a Danish hvidtøl. [20100116]

31st October 2008. Clear dark brown ale. Mild malt - just a little sourish. Unsurprisngly watery palate but it’s not too bad a thing as with it’s reasonable flavour it’s quite refreshing.

Bottle 50 cl. Comes simply as "Manns Brown Ale" - apparently lost its originality... Pours a very dark brown with a creamy beige head leaving some laces. Sweet roasted malts, burned caramel and some butter in the nose. Light body, sweet roasted malts, burned caramel and nuts. No bitterness. Very close to a Danish "Hvidtøl". 160110

Has a great look to it, nice dark brown colour, some faint smells of hops and barley in the scent. Tastes kind of funky, perhaps this taste isn’t for me - seems simple, very bready, quite watery, not what I wanted or expected. Maybe for a low-alc it could be a contender for a decent dark beer, though.

500ml bottle shared with CinnamonGirl. Clear rosewood body, only a ring of brownish bubbles at the surface. Sweet smell of malts and wort. Sweet roasted malts in flavour and little else. Creamy in the mouth. Lightweight, but drinkable as breakfast ale (hotel room, Preston 03.05.2009).

Bottle. Courtesy Saxo bought in London. Forhy lightbrown fair mostly deminishing head. Brown colour. Moderatemalty and light hoppy aroma. Caramellic and chocolate notes. Nice caramellic light bitter flavor. Moderate finish. Dry. Watery but nice palate. OK beer.
