Sweet malt, toffee and caramel and a touch of roasted malt is balanced by the clean fresh hop. Very full bodied but easy drinking with a pleasant bitterness – smooth, rich and malty.

330 ml clear bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 4.1%. Mahogany coloured beer, large and creamy beige head. Nice malty aroma, with a moderate roastiness, notes of mild coffee and a touch of wood and ashes. The flavour is malty and sweet, with more caramel than roastiness, minimal hops. Not your typical stout, but nice enough.

Thick & dense cream-coloured head over dark brown beer with a ruby sheen. Fruity nose, slightly roasted, avec some sourish lactic notes. Much more roasted notes it the taste, but again quite fruity and very discreet sweetness; and in the finish again the lactic touch, giving it a bit Oud Bruin dimension. Retronasal some nutty touches. Medium bodied, thick & creamy for its low ABV. Nice, absolutely.

02/08 0.5 l bottle from Interspar, Udine. It poured reddish brown body with medium sized ivory head. Nice caramel and some hops in its aroma. Pleasant caramelly and coffee flavor, slightly herbal with notes of licorice and chocolate, bit watery and thin bodied, but pleasant. Medium long sweetish caramelly and vanilla finish. A fine stout which misses some body.

(35.5cl bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a thick beige foamy head. Rather discreet aroma: sweet and slightly roasted malty nose with burnt elements (caramel) and traces of chocolate and red berries. Moderately sweet flavour, light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Mildly roasted malty base with notes of chocolate and berry fruits, reminding me a bit of Meantime Chocolate; finishes sweetish and faint roasty, but with stronger fruity notes. Not only a tad too sweet for my liking (14.VII.09).
