ベルジャンファミリー（毬シリーズ）に新たに加わった毬蔵は毬男の叔父の様な存在で、どちらもアメリカの要素が存分に感じられるダブルIPAです。毬男は西海岸を一躍有名にしたガツンと来るホッピーなIPAに近いですが、一方で毬蔵は少し大人びていて、旅が上手な性格です。東海岸の洗練された文化の中で自分を磨き、ジューシーでホッピーなキャラクターを醸成しました。

毬蔵はNew EnglandスタイルのIPAがベースです。モルトレシピはGolden Promise、2種類の小麦、Vienna、Carapilsです。8.5%のアルコール度数は普段のIPAよりもより芳醇なボディを生み出し、豊かな口当たりを残します。ホップはNEIPAでよく使われるMotueka、Mosaic、Ekuanot、Citraを使用しています。余分な苦味が取り除かれ凝縮された風味と香りを付与することができるCryoホップを醸造段階の後半、ふんだんに使うことでより豊かな芳香を醸し出すことができました。

名前の由来: 毬蔵は甥の毬男よりも大人びていて、知的で、旅が上手です。彼がアメリカの東海岸で過ごした時間は、香り高くて瑞々しいキャラクターによく現れています。

Marizo, the newest addition to our Belgian family of IPAs, is something of an uncle to Mario as both are DIPAs inspired by those found in the United States. While Mario’s personality is more in line with the brashly hoppy IPAs that made the West Coast famous, Marizo is a few years wiser, a bit more well-travelled, and finds himself more at home in the refined culture of the East Coast, which shows in his juicy and hoppy personality.

Marizo was brewed in the style of juicy New England IPAs with a malt recipe featuring Golden Promise, two types of wheat, Vienna, and Carapils. This in addition to the 8.5% ABV creates a much fuller body than most of our IPAs, leaving a rich mouthfeel typical of the style. Hops are also typical of the most popular NEIPAs, using Motueka, Mosaic, Ekuanot, and Citra. Cryo hops, a hop product created to impart maximum flavor and aroma without additional bitterness, were used plentifully in later stages to further amplify the nose of the beer.

Naming: Marizo is a bit older, wiser, and better travelled than his nephew Mario, and his time spent on the East Coast of the USA shows in his juicy and aromatic persona!
