Put on your stout boots and take a wander with us deep into the Black Forest. Brewed with rich roasted malts, then topped with tangy cherries, blackberries and muscovado sugar. It's dark, delicious and dangerously indulgent - just like a slice of your favourite cake.

Also known as "Black Forest Gateau".

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of cherries, dark chocolate, and roasted malt. The flavor is very sweet with notes of roasted malt, cherries, and dark chocolate, leading to a dry finish. Like a dessert chocolate.

Frothy lightbrown fair mostly diminishing head. Black colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Some cherries present. Moderate bitter cookie/cherry flavor. Very hard to drink. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate. Not my style, but ok brewed I guess.

On tap at Assembly Rooms Vocation Leeds Black beer lasting pink head. Some drying sharpness. Good glacé cherry flavour. some dark chocolate. fragile cream flavour. cherry dominates but with the crisp break of thin chilled dark chocolate flakes. pretty damn good though. cheery is too dominant and too sweet. but it's fun .

Can. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy but small dark tan head. Smooth palate, slightly soft, reasonable fine carbonation, good for the style. Smooth dark malts, mellow creamy dark chocolate. Good stuff and the perfect base for the juicy ripe cherry that he has a good weight on the intensity department. Getting slightly tart but that offsets the pastry malt base very well indeed. Touch of cherry liqueur. Smooth finish. Just right. Struggling not to guzzle this. A struggle I am losing. Lovely.
