Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A light brown head of moderate size sits on top of a clear dark chestnut body. Roasted, almost burnt maltyness in the aroma, quite fruity and with a touch of prunes. A bit thin on the palate, with roasted malts, some coffee and a little fruityness. Lacks a bit on hoppy bitterness and flavor I think, but overall, a pleasant beer. 110318

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark brown pour with a tan head which soon varnishes like an old oak table. Chocolate, wood, coffee in the nose. Licorice, chocolate, coffee, light caramel notes. A bit meaty. Dry mouthfeel. Very thin bodied. Dry, lightly bitter finish. Expected a bit more from this one. oh well.
