From tap at Mikkeller at Morebeer, Amsterdam. Blend 1. Aroma is tart grape with a little citrus, lemon. Light funk, some apple, grassy, hint of gooseberry. Medium sour flavour, finishes fairly dry. Medium body. Lots of grape character. Good stuff.

On tap at Bierhuis Oud Beersel, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma is very mild, with gentle barnyard funk, some rustic notes and a touch of sweat socks. Flavour is moderately-to-heavily tart, with sour citrus, gentle funk, and plenty of acidity. Tart, gently funky, acidic finish. Good but lacking complexity compared to most gueuzes.

Pours fairly clear, pale blonde. Small white head. Scent is very full, funky, hay (tart saison style meets lambic) , woody, fruity, mild apple (oud beersel?), citric. Rhubarb in a way. Taste is full, tart, rhubarb, dry, sharp, citric, harsh appleskins almost, very rough compared to Oud Beersel. Lovely and complex. Not a bad beer, but a bit to farmhouse ale like to be a true lambic or geuze style.

Superficial festival rating at Brew Festival, Oslo 2022. Saturday session 2. Unclear golden body under a big, creamy white head. Aroma has this typical, delicate Baghaven signature, funky, citric, wood and lemon. Taste is quite sour with fruit, berries, wood and funk, quite clean lambic profile. Medium body and dry, acidic aftertaste. Quite straight forward wild ale, but made in a nice, clean and refreshing way.

On tap at Brew Festival. Blend #1. An unclear yellow-orange colored beer with a dense two-finger white head leaving lacing. The aroma is citrusy and lightly funky, earth, barnyard and leather, with green grapes and some honeydew melon notes. It’s tart, full-bodied and nicely carbonated, with some tannins. Generic fruityness, hints of vinegar, a good leathery and barnyard-ish funk, some hay and pale malt hints and some grapes and melon in the flavor. Lasting fruity and funky finish. A tasteful and super-refreshing one. 220430

Bottle. Rather clear golden color with white head. Aroma is gooseberries, peach, lemon, fresh. Taste is lemon, maybe some rice indeed, complex, nice funk, not too earthy. Oily mouthfeel, natural carbonation. Really good one.

Really nice sour. Sharp and neutral. Bursting with fresh flavour. Not completely traditional lambic. But very good. Mikkleller ams
