Bottle at home having spent 4 hours at a drama review featuring the youngest. This was necessary. Perhaps served a touch too warm? Rich malts, balanced hops and a slight (only slight) taste of vomit. Ok, but not great.

27/1/2023. Cask at the 14th Colchester Winter Ale Festival. Pours clear golden with a small frothy white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, straw, touch of butter. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Moderate body, slightly oily, soft carbonation. Nice bittersweet finish. It's fine.

Clear pale gold with a frothy, almost creamy white head, and a slightly fruity aroma. Tastewise this is a pretty sweet golden ale, with fruit and sugar sweetness being slightly balanced out by a hint of citrus hop bitterness

Cask at Hogshead, Wolverhampton. Pours a hazy golden yellow with minimal white head, but good lacing. Nose is just vague hints of lemon. In the mouth, there is a initial sweet caramel texture which fades to bitter citrus, with traces of straw and biscuits. Some lemon in the finish. Very swiggable – and none the worse for that.

Handpull cask at the Ale Wagon, Leicester. Deep golden and clear with a quickly disappearing white head. Lemon balm, vanilla and mucky sulphur on the aroma. Tastes much better than it smells, with a citrus-tinged bitterness challenging the initial malty sweetness. More caramel in the aftertaste. Not bad by any means.
