Backlog June 2009. Reddish golden body under a dense beige head. Strong aroma, complex and vinous. Malt, dry fruit, Sherry and alcohol. Taste is sweet and malty with sweet malt, vinous alcohol, dry fruit, some caramel and warming alcohol. Full bodied. Quite heavy but nice.

Dark brown color, no head. Touches of chocolate and honey in the aroma. The beer is still very young. malty, sugary flavor, rather sweet and alcoholic. Chocolate, raisin and plums. A clone of Rochefort 10, perhaps. Not bad at all, but the beer needs further cellaring. The lacing needs improvement. But the flavor is quite nice and fairly complex, although there are some raw edges.

More than slightly aged sample Small rim over ruby-red, clear beer. Very sweet, port, madeira, nutty, oxydized, old wine aromas. Nutty, portwine, oxydation. Finish releases a bit bitterness and some more depth. Flat, oxydized, lighter by aging. I get the impression that this one aged with a rotvaart... Too far gone.

Bottle, 33cl, from trade with jbrus. A reddish orange-golden beer wtih a small, creamy, beige head on top. Nice aroma, but hard ot identify as the aromas are very integrated. Some alcohol, a little chocolate and spices, and notes of caramel. Vinous, malty flavor with caramel and dried fruits, leading to a lasting finish with the same flavors. Warming and full-bodied. Maybe a bit strange, but sure a nice beer. 090619

Bottle, shared by MiP. Thanks! Cloudy brownish-amber. Autolyzed aroma with chewy molasses. Smooth and soft, with more molasses character. Decent brew, but with little nuance.
