Some journeys are longer than others and our Amaretti Imperial Stout is there for the big ones, those hard fought slogs through the mud and dirt. This is a beer to be savoured and to reminisce over in front of a roaring log fire. Warm your toes and your heart; thats well deserved. Rich and luscious, with hints of vanilla and almond biscuit.

9/8/2020. Can from Three Hounds Bottle Shop. Pours very dark brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, dried fruit and maceroon biscuits. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Enjoyed this.

Can. Opaque black- brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth and semi dry palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft and slightly thin dark malts, semi sweet. Touch of chocolate fudge. Esters, not welcome. Modest Amaretto. Some spice on the fairly thin finish. Doesnโt quite get over the line. Itโs trying to be refined when it should try to be delinquent!

Poured with naff all head which is a shame, however even pouring there was a big waft of malty aroma even while pouring. Taste has chocolate, dried fruit, coffee, nuts. Not the smoothest imperial stout I've had but lots of strong flavours come through and leaves a nice, dry aftertaste with just a hint of warming booziness there. It's just lacking a certain... something. Not sure what.
