This beer is inspired by the classic first wave of American IPAs that were made with hops native to the west coast of the States. Cascade & Chinook hops in abundance give a grapefruit-citrus flavour that dominates the palate. There is plenty of malt body balanced by a pronounced bitterness & at 5.0% alcohol gives quite a punch.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo from recent beer festival. Cheers! Aroma of citrus, vanilla, hops, herbs, caramel and malted biscuits. Quite watery finish and is a little bitter. Not a lot coming through on the taste. Easy to drink but not memorable.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - thanks a lot!]. Clear, orangey, faint golden colour with small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Rather earthy, slightly floral-herbal-leafy, piney, grassy and minimally citrusy hoppy, biscuity, pale malty aroma, doughy yeasty overtones, hints of lemon, a touch of vanilla, brioche, white bread. Taste is slightly dry, minimally earthy, floral-leafy, grassy, minimally citrusy hoppy, biscuity pale malty, minimally doughy yeasty, hints of brioche, white bread, lemon, a touch of vanilla; moderately bitter, chalky finish. Minimally oily, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft to flat carbonation. Quite earthy and hence not overly refreshing - meh.

Panda to home, thanks to SHIG, 01/08/20. Clear golden blonde with a decent cap of white bubbles. Nose is pale malts, grass, vanilla, lemon, stale bread. Taste comprises light citric zest, grass, toasted grains, melon, sweetish perfumed vibes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a vague suggestion of hop bitterness. So so affair ... weak attempt at the style.

25/7/2020. Bottle from Beer Cockermouth (beergb.com), and shared with the SHIG at our second Cumbrian bottle share. Pours clear bright gold with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of fruit, grain, malt, old hops and cardboard. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average carbonation. Nice bitter finish was its redeeming feature.
