Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. As expected, a dark mahogany pour, quite frothy and some lacing. No real aroma worth writing home about it must be said. Served a little too cool i feel which perhaps masked some of the flavours, but there is a hint of coffee there and a spicy aftertaste. It's a fine beer and I'd be pleased if I'd brewed it myself, but there are better "robust" Porters out there. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a 330ml bottle on 7/6/2012. Pours a very dark brown with a medium head. Has quite a strong, impressive aroma of chocolate, coffee, licorice and roasted malt. The flavour follows suit, with an emphasis on the roasty bitterness and dark chocolate. It’s not overly sweet and is relatively intense. The carbonation is a little higher than typical, but this doesn’t detract from the experience. The texture is creamy. All up, a very solid porter.

Pours solid black with a towering light-brown head.Nose shows lots of dark and milk chocolate with some caramel chucked in there as well.Flavours are not as complex or interesting, but still show loads of roasted malt with faint hints of chocolate. Unfortunately there’s an off-putting tangy taste in there, like green apples.Too highly carbonated for a porter.

Bottle marked "Robust Porter". Pours black with an inch of tan head. Nose has roasted malt, vanilla, coffee and chocolate. Tastes fairly sweet and chocolatey. Thinnish body. Somewhat salty finish with a little bitterness. Sound enough, but a bit dull.

Bottle at Chriso’s Kook Tasting 09. Black, lasting tan head. Belgian choc flavour. Lasting intense choc. Settles down into a bit of a bland choc porter, but drinkable enough.
