1/3 pint, gravicask shared with Finn at GBBF Winter '23. Patches on the surface of a cloudy golden-orange coloured body. Dotted spots on the glass. Moderate aromas of ripe fruits and doughy malts. Blended taste of ripe citrus, biscuit, and leafy hops. Malt-fruity tail with a bitter backdrop. Fair enough. (Burton upon Trent 16.02.2023).

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2021 - Hackney. Pours clear burnished gold with a bubbly, white topping. Lightly sweet with assertive leafy-earthy hops, toasted grains, a little grass and crunchy bread. Light bodied with fine carbonation; nice condition. Bitter finish, lightly herbal, more leaves and grass. Solid, classic bitter.

330ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Barely clear, pale amber colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Floral, leafy, fruity, hoppy aroma with biscuity and caramel malty background, notes of apricot, mirabelle, a touch of nectarine, orange, an earthy touch of blackcurrant. Taste is dry, fruity, leafy, minimally zesty and waxy hoppy, light, biscuity and caramel malty basis with little residual sweetness, minimally diluted notes of mirabelle, apricot, some nectarine, quince, an earthy and minimally tart-ish touch of blackcurrant, minimally doughy, yeasty overtones; lingering, tart-ish and minimally mineral finish. Watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, soft carbonation. Well balanced, not overly intense but extraordinarily manifold for its low abv - very nice.

Many thanks to Grumbo. Fantastic smooth malty back. Easy to drink with a nice grainy aroma, dry caramel, hints of roast, not too much bitterness in the back. Nice Ale characteristics, fruity parts, very dry. Nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kingslayer on 08 Jul 2020 at 21:38 - Score: 7. Original review text: Many thanks to Graham.
