27/6/2020. Bottle from Beer Cockermouth (beergb.com), and shared with the SHIG at the Cumbrian 20 bottle share. Pours clear amber with a bubbly/frothy off-white head. Aroma of butter, caramel, grain, malt and fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body. Floral, earthy, bitter finish. Not keen, too buttery.

Bottle bought as a gift in Cartmel, Cumbria. Deeper amber coloured with a thin head. Has a light caramel-fruitiness in both aroma and taste, in a palatable texture.

500ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb, cheers Ash! Pours clear red brown, thin short-lived white head. Aromas of red fruit, light floral notes, something boozy, which is odd for the strength. Maybe it’s woody. Taste is light sweet, herbal notes. Quite a lot of flavour in there for the strength. Decent.

50cl bottle from the Cartmel village shop. Appearance - lovely amber red. Decent head which fades fairly quickly. Nose - dry malt and if I use my imagination there’s some red fruit there. Maybe jammy dodgers. Some cake mixture notes too. Taste - more jam and biscuits. Palate - light to medium bodied with a dry texture and a fairly balanced finish. Overall - solid but not amazing.
