Had this from cask at Malvern Spring show 13-05-06. Thought that I had already rated this before but never mind. Much fruitier and better than the parish that i also had with good malt flavours also present, quite dark brown and a touch on the sweet side.

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, deep amber with a dense, frothy head. Unusual heavy carbonation from the bottle conditioning and a huge sediment. Very spicy and slightly tart beer with a short but marked bitterness. I don’t get much of a malty sensation, but somehow this is more subtle and refined than your standard Bitter. 210201

A red beer with a disappearing beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of berries as well as hints of roasted malt - the aroma is a little too faint for my liking. The flavor is sweet and nicely malty as well as roasted and with hints of berries. The roasted malt gives it a dry end.

Dark bitter, almost black in colour. A roasted hopped flavour and a malty roasted very refreshing beer. Overall a great beer.

Hazy dark amber color. Quite well brewed Bitter, but simple, good caramel taste, noting else. Simple aroma. Correct bitterness.

Beautiful hazy amber color; thin head. Delicate malt and hop aroma. Quite malty, for a bitter, with a dominant caramel character, and a rising hop bitterness at the end. Quite good, but rough.

Reddish amber appearance. Acidic nose. Aroma of mashed apples. Medium bodied, slightly fruity, almost no bitterness. The acididty is bothering an din fact rather unpleasant. Did I have a bad bottle?
