Gold to amber with lasting whitish head. Exquisitely hoppy and aggressively bitter though these attributes are delicately tempered by a malt presence. There follows a long, satisfying dry hoppy finish.

On tap @ Heartland, Empire State Building:
Amber colour, the mid sized head leaves some fine lacing. Fruity aroma of apricots an pineapples. Fruity apricot flavour with notes of liquorice. A pretty good IPA, doesn’t break any new ground though.

Location: On tap at the 51st and 6th location of the brew pub
Aroma: Some citrus, earthy hops
Appearance: light orange colors, thin to med white head
Flavor: Balanced but IPA bitterness, some nuttiness
Palate: Decent balance, medium body
Overall Impression: A pretty decent IPA, one of the two best beers on the sampler I got along with the Oatmeal Stout.

(10/22/08) Draught sample at the brewpub at Empire State Building, New York. Clear golden color with a white head. Aroma of some hops, some flowers, citric hints and a bit of malt. Sweetish flavor with some malt that continues with a good amount of hoppy bitterness and floral notes. Medium-bodied. Not bad.

A red amber ale with no head. A caramel malt aroma with lots of strawberries and butterscotch. Yet another boring ale, with light sweetish malt, restrained hops, nutty notes and rather short in mouth. Boring. Tasted at the Union Square location, Nov. 2006.

Hoppy, but a little too muted for a US IPA. Fairly malty, biscuit, grassy, and some sweetness, too. Light metallic and resin finish. It almost seemed like they brewed US and UK IPAs, then mixed them. I did enjoy this one, though.

Amber color, stready small creamy white head, lace. Piney, aromatic hoppy nose. Piney and a bit citrusy hoppy flavor. Sharp citrusy finish. Ok all-around IPA.

On tap at the 6th Avenue branch, October 2006. Amber coloured with a slight white head. A light aroma of hay and floral hops. The flavour began with some sweet malt before a grassy hop finish. Ok.

Beautiful amber color; creamy head. Light hoppy aroma. Reasonable malty body, with a strong hopping, with some resins. Long and strong final, with a lot of sweet caramel and some toffee. Not exceptional but enjoyable.

On tap. Clear copper color with thin head. Mild aroma of citrus hops. Nice tasting old school style IPA like Samuel Smith’s rendition. Might be a solid Pale today. So as a Pale it has a nice citrus-grapefruit bitterness, sweet caramel malts and a bit of the grain malt flavor. Nice tasting Pale with no flavor faults that I could detect.
