Medium brown, thin head. Has a somewhat toasty note, medium sweetness. Balanced. Light caramel. Not complex. But not bad.

Sample at the brewpub. Pitch black pour with a medium tan head that recedes steadily to a film. Sparse patches of lace. Roast malt, chocolate and coffee aromas. Medium body with flavors of charred malt, milk chocolate and mild coffee. The finish is creamy with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft: Poured a black with light brown head. Aroma is sweet chocolate milky. Taste is smooth sweet malts chocolate.

From tap. Pours pitch black with a small off white head. Aroma is roasted malty, breadish and dark malty. Lingering dark malty, slight yeasty to vegetable note. Dry, phenolic and toasted dark malty finish
