The Event Horizon Imperial Stout is an incredibly rich and luxurious beer brewed with ten malts, local honey, and four American hop varietals before and extended aging in oak bourbon barrels. The result is a beer with many layers of complexity. As the name implies, with one sip you will be unable to turn back. Thanks Jack for sharing bottle! Poured into a wineglass showing pitch black and no head. The nose shows moderately intense honey, maple, and molasses. The palate is subtly carbonated and thick bodied. Flavors of light molasses and honey. Mid palate of light nuts with a light alcohol spiciness. Finish is a latte bitterness with more maple and honey on the linger.

22oz bottle 2010 vintage thanks to Toby. Pours out pitch black topped with a small tan ring of a head. Nose is big roast malts a nice light bourbon barrel presents molasses chocolate some vanilla. Taste is more of the nice rich malts roast chocolate vanilla the bourbon barrel is not over the top I like that.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours pitch black with a light brown head. Very sweet vanilla aroma from the Bourbon. Rich, sweet malty body, very subdued roastiness, palate is almost velvety due to the low carbonation. Sweet vanilla and Bourbon throughout. Candy in a bottle. 180816

Bottle from a trade – thanks Jason! Aroma has alcohol, licorice, sweet cocoa tones and hints of tobacco. Flavour has rubbery notes, cocoa, ash, slightly salty licorice and alcohol. Also bourbon tones with vanilla and wood. Reminds me of Goose Island BCS.

Bottle (date Dec. 2014) from de Bierkoning @ Beer Temple, shared with Abijn & MarcodL. Black color. Brown head. Aroma’s: sweet, bourbon, vanilla, light honey. Retronasal it’s moderate sweet, wood, vanilla, alcohol, bourbon. Flavor is moderate sweet with a light fruity sourness. Alcohol definitely feels stronger than 8.5%. Medium bodied. Long finish, but no new flavors.

Bottle, courtesy of Potjebier, thanks! Black pour, almost no head. Delicious aroma of rich vanilla, mild honey, bourbon booze and creamy choco. Smooth flavor of vanilla, bourbon, subtle honey sweetness, cream, caramelised malt and a mildly stingy bourbon finish. This is the good stuff.

Bouteille 650ml, bottle share. Couleur noire opaque, absence de mousse. Arôme de Bourbon, malt torréfié, miel. Goût de Bourbon, chocolat noir, malt torréfié, épicé, un peu sucré. Carbonatation faible, corps dense, huileuse.

Refrigerated brown bomber, bottled on November 17, 2015, poured into a snifter. Black with small/medium light brown head. Aroma is bourbon, medium/thick body, some carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is bourbon, roasted malt, soy sauce, oak, some alcohol, some ash, and some herbal hops for balance.
