Bulldog is an award winning strong ale that was first brewed for the export market in 1947. The traditional recipe and maturing process of "warm conditioning" which takes place after fermentation, has been deliberately retained to preserve the strength and quality. The beer is dry hopped and the distinctive mellow flavour of Bulldog Strong Ale allowed to develop slowly.

Tap at Circus, Rimini, Italy. Pours brilliant red amber, with very fine white foam. Aroma is malty and caramel. Body is full, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium sweet, continuing also in the final. Overall, not very interesting.

bottiglia 33 cl, 7,1% vol., schiuma beige fine media persistenza, colore oro limpido, al naso malto tostato luppoli, in bocca malto zucchero di canna caramello, corpo rotondo, alcool ben presente. carbonazione moderata, dolce con amaro moderato lungo nel finale. La famosa Bulldog… Me la ricordo fin da quand'ero ragazzino. Niente di stupefacente ma non male. c. Unes Maccagno 21.11.20

Bottle at Bar Bra, Verona, Italy, Saturday 7th September 2019. I remember drinking this beer about 30 years ago when working on the IOW, I'm sure it was brewed by Courage back then. Pours copper, good clarity, white head. Malty and quite robust, some toffee and caramel, fruit. Fine if a lacking a little finesse.

Orangebrun klar med høyt beige skum. Lukter brunt sukker, karamell, fudge og rips. Middels fylde. Smaker søtlig karamell noe brent, blomster og bær. Balansert. Medium bitterhet kommer sent. Kjenner også alkoholen noe, spesielt i etterkant. Men en svært lettdrikkelig ale til å være på 7,1
