Bottle from IKEA as a present from a colleague. Gold, thick white head. Some pale malt on the aroma., even a faint hint of lemon. OK in mouth, if not overly full. Some carbonation sting and touch of citrus on finish. But also a bit of cardboard too. Not horrible, but then again I won’t be running out to buy this again either.

(Bottle 0,33l) Malty aroma. Clear yellow color. Medium white head. Medium bitter. Light bitter astringent finish. Average beer, but has none disturbing aroma or flavor (maybe it’s because of Reinheitsgebot).

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms, Vasagatan, Stockholm) Yellow colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with white bread, grass and hints of citrus. Malty, bready taste with notes of grain and grassy hops with a touch of citrus in a dry, bitter finish. Rather thin body, but dry and with a generous hoppy bitterness. Well made pilsner, not bad at all.

330 ml stylish bottle (new design), courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7% (ABV possibly adapted to Norwegian regulations). Pale yellow colour, big white head. Grainy aroma, also some sweetish vegetable notes. Moderate carbonation in the glass, soft mouthfeel. Acceptable flavour of pilsener malts and moderate hops (though I might still have been under the influence of the long hoppy aftertaste of my previous beer, BrewDog 77 Lager). Anyway, Old Gold Premium Pils has no noticeable off-flavours, and is far from undrinkable. Don’t expect anything exciting, though.

Bottle. Soft flowery grainy aroma. Grainy flowery citric, slightly perfumed flavor with apple and a soft grassy bitterness, that lingers on a bit in the aftertaste. Lacks all greatness, but at least it is drinkable.
