Flaska från närlivset, Bryssel. Ljus guldisig med vit krona. Jäst, vete, banan, citrus, blommiga toner, något parfymig.

Slightly wheaty, hoppy finish. Definitely a thick hoppy slightly belgian finish.

Tap at Gar Eden. Aroma is strange, bit plastic, chemical, sharp but interesting. Bit of weizen poking though but lots of Belgian IPA style sharpness, tripel fruitiness. Taste is interesting too, Hefeweizen sweet creaminess, Belgian hoppy lemon washing up liquid, but maybe dies a little at the end when it veers more towards tripel territory. Interesting experiment and glad I tried it.

33 cl bottle at the restaurant of Africa Museum, in Tervuren, near Brussels. It pours lemony yellow with conspicuous greenish shades. Very thick, abundant and long-lasting off-white head. Aroma is quite intense: cardamom, white flowers (such as magnolia, orange blossom or wild rose), smoke. Soft and creamy, yet light and very refreshing. Finish is longer than expected, and comes with an also unsuspected tinge of pungency. Very low bitterness, despite some herbal reminiscences in the after-taste.

(Draught at Brussels Beer Project, Brussels, 20 Oct 2018) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with peaches, citrus, grass, soft malt and white bread. Malty, fruity taste with notes of white bread, peaches, ripe fruit and grass. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Soft and mild, but quite tasty. Quite nice.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of banana peel, clove, yeast, ripe fruit, grass and mild funk. Pours cloudy pale golden color with medium sized creamy white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts medium sweet bready and fruity, following is phenolic, estery and floral, mouthfeel is smooth and spicy, while finish is mild to average bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and lively carbonation in palate. Feels quite drinkable, but this Bertha quickly hits you with its power...

opalescent pale yellow colour, large, though not too stable snowwhite head; aroma of clove, wet wheat, some linden honey, banana and coriander; taste has the same notes with some citruses...isn't it a Belgian witbier?

0.33l bottle - enormous thanks Pero! :D Golden-yellow body with a thick white head. Quite nice, well defined blend of esters and phenols come from the aroma, the fruitiness and spiciness leaning towards the Belgian side slightly more than German, which is to be expected. The taste blends pear-like esters with a somewhat caramelly wheat malt background, with a Trippel-like body/profile and mild spiciness, nicely balanced. Very well made - not something I'd drink often, but definitely something I'd never say no to!
