Bottled Brugs de’ Beertje 04-11-05. Had this the day after the other Piraat beer, and didn’t enjoy quite as much. Golden with large white head again, bittersweet taste, some spiceiness fine but not great.

Cloudy gold, immense lasting white head.Yeasty nose, light alcohol, great sweet carmel. Taste manages to be tart/sweet at same time. Interesting. gassy, softly carbonated

(bottle) Hazy yellow colour with a big foamy white head, which is quite stable. Medium sweet malty and citrusy aroma with yeasts and alcohol. Sweet honey-ish malty taste with a medium body and lively carbonation. Spicy, slightly hoppy, yeasty and moderately bitter finish with strong notes of alcohol. Not very spectacular and rather one-dimensional compared to other Belgian gems.

(Bottle 33 cl) A younger sibling to the older, stronger and classical Piraat. Golden pilsener colour with a slight cloudiness, fizzy head from a high carbonation. Nice, fruity nose. Some initial sweetness balanced well by the hops. Pronounced alcohol glow although never unpleasantly alcoholic. Not sophisticated but a very decent brew indeed. 250601

Pale brew. Citrus spicy aroma. Bit wheat-like taste, but weaker. Mild to drink despite it's 9%.
