In 1410, Waterland was owned by Count William VI. His treasurer Willem Eggert had to restore order and in 1410 he obteined the fiefdom of Purmerend. On the occasion of this event, SNAB brewed this specialty beer 600 years later. Willem Eggert build Purmersteijn castle. He died in 1417. 1410 is a unique, distinctive specialty beer with a pleasant balance between fruitiness and hop bitterness.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s post GBBF minidig, 16/08/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white head. Nose is bready, dark fruit, light spice. Taste comprises light yeast esters, brown bread, dark fruit notes, toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, fruity linger in a semi drying close with a light hop presence. Ok but like so many ’Belgian Ales’ nothing to make me want to return for more though!

Bottle @ home, shared with DutchDrebus. Unclear brown / amber color, small off-white head. Nice some kind of fruity smell. Decent taste and good body and carbo for a beer of only 5.5%ABV.

This beer has a colour i like. Lacking a little bit in taste. Easy to drink. It’s a good beer, but it’s just not that special to me.

On tap at the Arends Nest. Hazy amber beer with a small off white head. Smooth palate, mild carbonation. Tame creamy malt and some very watered down citrus. Balanced in it’s blandness. Very dissapointing!

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It’s an unclear, amber beer with a minimal sized off-white head. The aroma is mostly fruity, but with a sort of unpleasant touch. Sweetish fruityness and white sugar. Not bad though. The flavor has a nice bitterness to the slightly sweetish fruityness. Quite herbal. Medium to full body. Well, not impressive, but quite decent, although a bit sweetish and sugary. 110318
